Papilionoidea New Types Digitisation Project

The Papilionoidea type collection comprises the records of recently acquired (~last 20 years) Papilionoidea type material held within a synoptic collection at the Natural History Museum, London.

This synoptic type collection was digitised to create specimen records and capture specimen metadata. Each specimen record has been published with an image capturing both the specimen (dorsal and ventral habitus) and its associated labels, and creating an inventory record with a unique identifier (Data Matrix barcode), taxon information, type status, determination date, taxonomic authority and country level collection locality.

The data resource generated by the project is available using the link.

This collection was digitised as part of the Museum's Digital Collections Programme.
