We calculated the mean values for each year of the Biodiversity Intactness Index (BII) (weighted by cell area) as well as a number of pressure variables (as change in pressures drive change in BII). We used cross-validation (leaving one biome out in turn) to provide decadal upper and lower uncertainty margins for BII.
The variables include: bii: mean Biodiversity Intactness Index crops: mean grid cell fraction assigned to annual, perennial and nitrogen-fixing crops pastureland: mean grid cell fraction assigned to pasture and rangeland urban extent: mean grid cell fraction assigned to urban highintensityag: mean grid cell fraction assigned to high-intensity agriculture (annual, perennial and nitrogen fixing crops and pasture) qualitynatural: primary and mature secondary vegetation that is either under minimal or light use hpd: mean human population density
Area codes correspond to the UN M49 area codes for countries, interregions, subregions and regions. See associated json file.
The summary data are provided for all variables in long format (i.e., one row for each scenario, year, variable and area code combination).
Previous version included only data for 2000-2050, and did not include uncertainty limits.
