Ludlow Museum Fossils in Shropshire Project data

The Fossils in Shropshire project dataset includes collections data and images of geological specimens from Shropshire Museums collections. The collection is principally comprised of paleontological specimens from Shropshire and the Welsh Marches and illustrates Shropshire’s diverse geology. It also has representative material from the rest of Britain and further afield. The most important or illustrative examples from this diverse collection are being digitised and key information captured by a small team of staff and volunteers.

The project aims to increase awareness and access to this collection and is managed by the Friends of Ludlow Museum. The project is based at Ludlow Museum Resource Centre where the bulk of the 35,000 specimens are stored.
