This directory contains BII v2.1.1 data. The data download is a .zip file of global rasters (.tif) at approximately 10km resolution at the equator, for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. BII rasters are values between zero and 100%, indicating the intactness of the ecosystem: zero meaning completely degraded and 100% being completely intact. The .zip file also includes a README with metadata for the spatial rasters, and a LICENSE file.
This dataset was developed using methodology described here: De Palma, A., Contu, S., Thomas, G. E., Duffin, C., Nix, S., & Purvis, A. (2024). The Biodiversity Intactness Index (BII) developed by the Natural History Museum: Methodology (v2.1.1). Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13903307
