British and Irish Agromyzidae (Diptera) Collection

The British and Irish Agromyzidae Collection comprises of the records of all pinned agromyzid material at the Natural History Museum, London at the time of project completion (July 2019).

The aim of this project was to digitise the pinned agromyzid specimens using the ALICE workflow (Angled Label Image Capture and Extraction) to enable the national agromyzid expert to work remotely with this collection to extract data from the specimen labels and verify identifications.

Each specimen record has been published with six standard images capturing the dorsal habitus, lateral habitus and four angled views of the specimen labels. The images created were attached to existing specimen records within the Collection Managment System.

The data resource generated by the project is available using the link.

This collection was digitised as part of the Museum's Digital Collections Programme.
