British and Irish Agromyzidae (Diptera) Collection

The British and Irish Agromyzidae Collection comprises of the records of all pinned agromyzid material at the Natural History Museum, London at the time of project completion (July 2019).

The aim of this project is to digitise the 10,631 pinned Agromyzid specimens using the ALICE workflow (Angled Label Image Capture and Extraction). The specimen images provide a useful record for collection management and allow the national Agromyzid experts to work with this collection to extract label data and verify identifications.

Each specimen record has been published with six standard images capturing the dorsal habitus, lateral habitus and four peripheral views. The images created were attached to existing specimen records within the CMS.

The data resource generated by the project is available using the link.

This collection was digitised as part of the Museum's Digital Collections Programme.
