British and Irish 'Larger' Micro Moths Collection

The British and Irish 'Larger' Micro Moths Collection comprises the records of all the pinned material of Alucitidae, Cossidae, Limacodidae, Sesiidae and Zygaenidae housed in the British and Irish Lepidoptera Collection at the Natural History Museum, London at the time of project completion (January 2024).

The British and Irish 'Larger' Micro Moths Collection was digitised to further complete work started during the iCollections project to digitise all British and Irish Lepidoptera material held at the Natural History Museum, London.

Each specimen record has been published with an image capturing both the specimen and its associated labels and creating an inventory record with a unique identifier (Data Matrix barcode) and taxon information.

The data resource generated by the project is available using the Data and Resources link. Please search for the relevant taxa as this dataset is part of a project covering a range of families.
