Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Ocalis Westwood, [1851], is invalid under Article II (d) because it was published in a synonymy, being placed by Westwood as "Ocalis Boisduval MS." in the synonymy of Oressinoma Doubleday, [1849]. Further, even if this name had been validly published by Westwood, it would have been invalid as a junior objective synonym of Oressinoma Doubleday. Cowan (1970: 28) stated:- "OCALIS" Westwood, [1851] : 371, 372. Not available. Introduced as "Boisd. ms." in the synonymy of Oressinoma Doubleday, whose single species was given the synonym "Oress. typhla, Ocalis typhla Boisd. ms." No other mention. Never since raised from synonymy. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
