| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- Prosaris was established for a species that Meyrick described from a single male and identified doubtfully as Orthopygia pernigralis Ragonot, 1891 Annls Soc. ent. Fr. 60: 32, a species which Rogonot had described from a single female. The two taxa were shown to be distinct by Hampson, 1896 Fauna Br. India (Moths) 4: 161, 174, and the type-species of Prosaris has been referred to subsequently as Prosaris pernigralis Meyrick, 1894. |
