| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Herrich-Schäffer included two species in Sarothroma, punctigera Stoll and * Haematodes [Herrich-Schäffer]; for the latter he cited figs 510 and 511 (possibly an error for figs 511, 512, where the male and female of another Megalopygid, Xenarchus osorius Herrich-Schäffer were illustrated). The legend, on the wrapper, named fig.510 as `Thaumatoea lewinii' an incorrect subsequent spelling of Bombyx lewinae Lewin, 1807. The name * Haematodes was not, however, used for any of these figures and the name remains a nomen nudum. Sarothroma is a junior objective synonym of Sciathos Walker, 1855 [June 9]. |
