| Memo: | Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- S. metaus is dated from the wrapper of the part and not from the title-page of the volume, 1782. Incorrect type-species: Glaucopis Sphingidea Perty, 1834, a name not originally included in Automalis and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Walker, 1856, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 7:1634. Automolis was established in the `Phalaenae'; it was placed in the `Zygaenidae' by Walker, 1856, ibidem 7:1634 was placed in the Arctiidae by Kirby, 1892, ibidem 1:220; and its type-species was placed in the Thyretidae by Kiriakoff, 1956, Lambillionea 56: 26. |
