Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Cirsiphaga was first proposed by Holik, 1953, but was nomenclaturally unavailable (see below). Tremewan made the name available by providing the reference to Holik's description together with a type-species designation. Cirsiphaga was established as a subgenus of Zygaena Fabricius, 1775.
