Wheat Through the Ages

The project entailed to stub-record, image and transcribe all of the Triticeae tribe from General Herbarium, British & Irish Herbarium and Percival Collection at the Natural History Museum, London, at the time of project completion (April 2023). This included wheat and wild crop relatives. Digitising this collection will help identify specimens that represent times and locations of wheat & relatives that have not yet been genome sequenced. The output of this project is part of a much larger dataset with the same name, to which two other European institutions also contribute.

This collection was digitised as part of the Museum's Digital Collections Programme and was funded by Synthesys+ Virtual Access.
